The Dancing Shadows Round Dance Club is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization. The club is operated by its members. It is an affiliate of (1) the Palomar Square Dance Association, and (2) the San Diego Round Dance Instructors.

The club mission statement is "to promote and enjoy Round Dancing by assuring that opportunities for quality Round Dancing are available to our members and that the opportunities are supported for levels II through VI;  and to support the Square Dancing community as a partner in creating and sustaining quality recreational dancing".

Club Objectives Include:
1. Promote International Choreographed Ballroom Dancing (i.e. Round Dancing) as a popular social recreation.
2. Facilitate social contact and fellowship within the membership and affiliated organizations.
3. Encourage and welcome both experienced and new participants to this fun activity.
4. Promote improved dancing skills among our members.
5. Provide quality floor time for students of round dancing.
6. Provide fun and challenging dance programs and cuers to enhance dancing enjoyment.

The entertainment program for each event  is conducted by dance cuers selected from excellent cuers available locally. Dance requests from all  participants are encouraged. Visitors are always welcome.

Club members help out with set up prior to, or clean up after, a hosted  event. Members also bring a small plate of snack food or treats to the event whenever they would like to contribute.

Round dancing is an alcohol-free social recreation. PSDA affiliated club members pledge to abstain from alcoholic beverages before and during dance events. This pledge is a requirement of liability insurance obtained by affiliated clubs, including the Dancing Shadows.
